PVs on Public Buildings
The installation of photovoltaic panels (PVs) on public buildings is directly in line with the first component of Malta’s Recovery and Resilience plan. Moreover, it will have a direct effect with regards to Malta’s attainment of its Renewable Energy Targets since The National Energy and Climate Plan identifies and includes Government owned buildings as part of the potential which needs to be developed with PV installations to contribute towards the 2030 RES target. This scheme shall also help Malta align to the upcoming revisions of the Renewables Directive as per the Green Deal ambition.
The Energy and Water Agency (the Agency) is accepting Expressions of Interest (EoI) from Government Ministries, Departments, and other public entities operating from Government owned buildings for the Installation of PV panels upon said Public Buildings.
Eligible costs under the scheme cover the design, supply, installation and commissioning of the PV panels on the indicated building.
This initiative has an allocated budget of two hundred and fifty thousand euro (€250,000).
The funding available for each accepted proposal for an installation shall be capped at twenty-five thousand euro (€25,000) and assigned on a first come first served basis subject to availability of funds.
