This mid-term season, the Energy and Water Agency (EWA) welcomed over 750 visitors to the Chadwick Halloween Trail, an event that brought families together at the Chadwick Lakes Trail for a day filled with fun, learning, and outdoor adventure. The aim was to celebrate the mid-term holidays, enjoy quality time with family, and, most importantly, appreciate the beautiful natural surroundings the area has to offer.

The day was packed with excitement as children explored themed areas such as The Little Painters’ Patch and The Witches’ Arcade. They expressed their creativity at the painting corner, tested their skills in the game area, and sparked their curiosity through play and discovery.

The main attraction of the event was Osbert’s Haunted Trail, where children took on the challenge of finding as many of Osbert’s Halloween-themed frogs as possible for a chance to win a prize at the end of the trail. This activity not only encouraged children to explore the natural beauty of Chadwick Lakes but also provided a bonding experience for the whole family.

At The Mascots’ Lair, children had the opportunity to meet Chadwick’s beloved mascot, Osbert, who greeted the little visitors. Meanwhile, over at the Fiddien Box Recreational Area, families learnt more about the site’s restoration efforts and the ongoing importance of protecting Malta’s natural environment.

Adding to the day’s fun was The Fairly Hydrated Knight, a lively open-air theatrical play that captivated both children and adults alike. Through humour, music, and storytelling, the play delivered an entertaining yet meaningful message about water conservation, aligning with EWA’s mission to promote the responsible use of water resources.

EWA’s team members ensured that every visitor enjoyed a safe, informative, and memorable experience. The positive feedback received from the families highlighted the event’s welcoming environment and strong sense of community.

What’s Ahead

Following the turnout of the event, EWA looks forward to building on this success in future similar events. Events like the Chadwick Halloween Trail continue to demonstrate how education, sustainability, and family fun can come together to create meaningful experiences that promote environmental responsibility across all generations.

Thank you to everyone!

EWA would like to extend its heartfelt gratitude to all the families who joined the Chadwick Halloween Trail 2025, as well as to the dedicated EWA team members whose time, effort, and enthusiasm made this event such a success.
