LANDS
Project Description
Leveraging Actions with Nature for Development & Sustainability
The LANDS project strengthens practical skills for Nature-based Solutions (NbS) in Mediterranean cities facing water scarcity and climate stress. Over its duration, the project brings together public authorities, VET providers, practitioners, and technical experts to co-design and test training activities, develop a Digital Toolkit for NbS, and train a cohort of NbS Ambassadors who will support local implementation and knowledge transfer. Through peer learning, on-site visits, and locally tailored forums, LANDS promotes greener, climate-resilient neighbourhoods and ensures that the knowledge generated remains accessible and transferable beyond the project’s lifetime.
Objectives
- Build capacity for NbSs among VET providers, municipal staff and practitioners.
- Train a cohort of 12 NbS Ambassadors to act as multipliers within their local contexts.
- Develop an open-access Digital Toolkit for VET and policy use, adapted from existing NbS catalogues.
- Establish Local Forums to gather needs, co-design actions and support peer learning.
- Produce storytelling videos and communication outputs that promote replication and visibility.
- Support alignment with EU climate and water resilience priorities and facilitate long-term adoption of NbS.
