GeoERA RESOURCE
EU member states generally have a comprehensive overview of the groundwater resources in their own country. But, currently, an overview of all fresh groundwater across Europe is unavailable to EU countries.
Therefore, the GeoERA RESOURCE project aims to unify the information on Europe’s groundwater resources through cross-border demonstrations and, ultimately, create the first Pan-European map of the continent’s fresh groundwater resources.
A range of regional and national stakeholders will collaborate to ensure that the authorities that manage groundwater resources, as well as the end-users, are considered. The project also aims to gather harmonised data across borders to be able to assess the 3D structure of aquifers and their water volumes, fluxes and quality.
